Pakistan, India Foreign Ministers review Composite Dialogue Process NEW DELHI, Dec 7 (PPI): India and Pakistan Friday reviewed progress in their Composite Dialogue Process aimed at improving bilateral ties. India's External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Pakistan's caretaker Foreign Minister Inamul Haq met this afternoon on the sidelines of SAARC Ministerial meeting and reviewed progress on CDP. They also discussed contentious issues of Jammu & Kashmir, Siachen and Sir Creek, a source in Indian Foreign Ministry told reporters after 45-minute meeting. Cherie Blair's adviser jailed for fraudulent loan scheme

The conman Peter Foster, who was at the centre of the Cherie Blair property-buying scandal, has been jailed for four and a half years in Australia after another of his financial schemes went awry.

The 45-year-old admitted fraudulently obtaining loans from a bank, ostensibly to help develop a resort on a Fijian island.

The supreme court in Brisbane was told Foster took out a A$580,000 (£252,000) loan with the Bank of Federated States of Micronesia, saying he wanted to develop the remote island as an upmarket holiday destination. Over a two-month period in 2006, he made nine transfers totalling A$306,772, telling bank officials the money was for development purposes.

ID Theft Hit 8 Million Americans in 2005 Federal Trade Commission

Dec 04 2007 : Identity theft affected 8.3 million adults, or 3.7 percent of the adult U.S population, in 2005, according to a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) study. The report is based on 4,917 telephone interviews with a random sample of American adults.

For the study, the FTC categorized ID theft victims according to specific Federal U.S. laws. It estimated that 3.3 million American adults, or 1.5 percent of the adult population, experienced the misuse of one or more of their existing non-credit card accounts in 2005. This fraud category included checking, saving or telephone accounts.

Based on the study, the FTC also estimated that in 2005 there were 3.2 million fraud victims in the category of �existing credit cards.�

In addition, there were 1.8 million victims in the category of �new accounts and other fraud,� where fraudsters opened new accounts in the victims� names, or committed other frauds using their ID.
